Scholarship Information

We understand that MBI is expensive. We try as hard as we can to make MBI affordable for everyone by working with families to research and apply for scholarships and by creating payment plans that meet both your family's needs and the needs of our program.

The sooner you contact us to discuss options, the sooner we can strategize to make MBI affordable for your family. HDNA has a modest scholarship fund, which you can apply to at the link below.

For information regarding external scholarships, please refer to the Scholarship Tab on this website or click the link below to be redirected to a document with scholarship resources.

It is a good idea to get an early start by contacting your local Shaliach/Shlicha for additional suggestions. With a bit of effort, you have a very good chance of receiving financial aid. Please contact the Program Director if you need a formal letter of acceptance for scholarship purposes.

If there is no local Shaliach/Shlicha in your area, please contact the Program Director at (718) 789-1796 or at programs@habonimdror.org for information regarding scholarship opportunities.

For financial questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to call the Central Office to speak to Bekah Diamond-Bier, our Financial Director, or e-mail finance@habonimdror.org.

MBI Cancellation and Refund Policy

Despite the ever-changing political climate in Israel, Habonim Dror is committed to providing a safe and meaningful summer experience. We understand that the decision to travel to Israel can be difficult; however we assure you that Habonim Dror would not allow the MBI program to run if the safety of the participants was in jeopardy. With an itinerary approved by the central security body in Israel (known as the “Chedar Matzav” or “Situation Room”) and with qualified staff and regular communication with the Jewish Agency, Habonim Dror North America feels confident in the safety of the MBI program.

Any applicant who withdraws from MBI prior to May 1st will receive a full refund of all program costs, with the exception of a $500 USD administration fee. For cancellations received after May 1st, program costs will be refunded minus the $500 USD administration fee and the full cost of the plane ticket.

Once purchased, the plane tickets are non-refundable and will become your property. If you need to make changes to names and/or dates, you will be liable for any change/re-ticketing fees.
